Anne Braly spent 25 years in the newsroom of the Chattanooga Times Free Press. She was first a feature reporter in the Life department, writing about food, travel, people and other things happening around the Tennessee Valley and beyond. Eventually, her love and knowledge about food led to her position as the Food Editor at the Times Free Press.
Oftentimes, food and travel intersect, and soon, her two passions married.
Anne left the paper in 2011 to pursue what has become an active freelance career. She continues to write her weekly food column, Side Orders, as well as frequent food and travel stories for the Times Free Press. She is also the food editor and a travel writer for WordSouth Publishing, a company that publishes trade magazines for electric and telephone co-ops across the country.
Contributing frequently to Chatter magazine, gonomad.com, y’all.com and Cloud Nine, a magazine for Southern Airways, keeps her on the road a good bit of the year with adventures throughout the United States and beyond its borders.
Anne’s stories have also appeared in Orlando Magazine, Mississippi Magazine, Tennessee Lookout, Chattanooga Magazine, Tennessee Home and Farm and other publications in print and online.
